I was trying to think of something insightful, but really there's not much else to say is there?
Sitting down yesterday afternoon I started to unfollow accounts and remove followers one-by-one. I thought maybe one day things might change and it'd be a shame to lose an account I'd held for such a long period of time.
After 15 mins or so, I realised none of the accounts I had removed were people/sites I couldn't follow elsewhere. After another 5 mins I realised I hadn't had a particularly useful interaction on that site in a while, and had really become more of a spectator.
It took me 20 minutes to realise there was nothing worth waiting around for.
I deleted my account immediately. Though, I have re-registered an account as a placeholder for my name, both to stop it being used in any malicious way, and to direct over to @sam@clrk.space anyone who does find me there.
